Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in Interdisciplinary Studies

(Non-licensure with 5th year MAT Elementary Education licensure option)

Dr. Beth Ackerman — Associate Dean, School of Education

As an individual with a desire to further your education and gain insight into the foundational principles of education, earning your Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in Interdisciplinary Studies (non-licensure with 5th year MAT option) will equip you with the specialized knowledge, insight, and skills you need to achieve your goals and succeed in your career.  Upon completion of the Bachelor of Science degree, you may choose to continue for a 5th year to earn licensure in elementary education through the MAT.

Liberty University’s® Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in Interdisciplinary Studies program approaches the discipline of education from a Christian perspective to provide you with a firm foundation from which to understand elementary educational development and behavior.

You will gain insight into the development and influence of a Christian worldview in elementary education, as well as study current educational trends practiced in today’s private and public schools while earning your online bachelor’s degree in education.

Courses give you the opportunity to tap into education by evaluating associated methods and interventions such as differentiated learning and direct instruction. An online degree in pre-teacher preparation will give you the opportunity to create lesson plans and units for the purpose of educational planning.

The Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in Interdisciplinary Studies degree serves to provide a foundation of education that can assist a student in becoming a teacher candidate in a graduate education program. The program also provides theories and methodology of Christian education that will assist those who will work in Christian schools, churches, and the home.  Upon completion of this program, you will be eligible for a teaching certificate from the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) by submitting the form below.  And it will prepare you for our MAT elementary licensure program.
