Detailed guides are provided for each branch of service, as well as to veterans, to advise you on what steps you should take in order to apply to the program, have your military training evaluated for college credit, and to utilize any military benefits you may be eligible to receive. 3. Can I receive college credit for my military training? (Back to Top)
Yes. Liberty University awards college credit for training evaluated and recommended by the American Council on Education. To request an official evaluation of your military training for college credit, please have your official transcripts sent to:

5. When is my TA authorization form due? (Back to Top)
Due dates for TA will vary according to your branch of service. An approved paper TA form must be submitted to Liberty University no later than one week after the start date of the term in which you plan to enroll.
Military TA Deadlines
GoArmyEd
As a GoArmyEd student, you may apply for TA through the GoArmyEd portal as soon as it opens for the specific term needed. Your TA request must be submitted through the portal no later than one week after the start date of the term in which you plan to enroll.
Military TA students may submit TA by fax to (434) 455-1287, or scan and email to either luomilitary@liberty.edu.
6. How long will it take for my TA to be processed once I submit the TA form or authorizations? (Back to Top)
Once submitted to our Military Affairs Office, your TA will be processed within 1-3 business days.
(Note: If financial check-in deadlines are near, TA processing time may be extended to 3-5 business days.)
Once your TA has been processed, you will receive email verification from our Military Affairs Office. You will also receive instructions on how to complete financial check-in, which is the final step in completing your enrollment. Once you have received these instructions, please proceed with financial check-in unless otherwise advised by our military affairs staff.
7. I am eligible for the GI Bill / VA Benefits. How can I start receiving these benefits? (Back to Top)
To begin utilizing these benefits, you must first complete certain VA paperwork before enrolling in classes. Please click on the applicable benefit listed below and follow the guide provided:
- Chapter 30: Montgomery GI Bill (Active Duty)
- Chapter 33: Post-9/11 GI Bill
- Chapter 1606: Montgomery GI Bill (Selected Reserves)
- Chapter 1607: Reservist Educational Assistance Program (REAP)
- Chapter 35: Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance Program

8. How much can I expect to receive for my GI Bill? (Back to Top)
The GI Bill issues monthly payments based on your enrollment and course load or “training time.” Please review the VA training times and monthly pay rates based on chapter of benefit and course load.

9. Why haven't I received my GI Bill funds? How long will it take for my funds to arrive? (Back to Top)
In order to receive your monthly GI Bill benefits, you must verify your enrollment on the WAVE website on the first of each month. Once your enrollment has been properly verified, payment will be issued to your account within 2-4 business days.
10. The VA asks for a VA Form 22-1999. What is this form and how is it submitted? (Back to Top)
VA Form 22-1999 is an electronic enrollment certification that is submitted by our Military Affairs Office. This certification reports your hours and term of enrollment to the VA through our certification portal, VA-ONCE. After you have submitted your initial VA paperwork to our Military Affairs Office, your subsequent enrollments will automatically be reported to us. Our VA Certifying Officials will then report your enrollment to the VA through this electronic form. You will then be notified by a confirmation email containing further instructions on how to proceed.
11. Am I eligible for the Military Tuition Discount? If so, how can I start receiving this benefit? (Back to Top)
In order to begin receiving this benefit you will need to submit a copy of your DD-214, military orders or military transcript by fax or e-mail (434) 455-1287, luomilitary@liberty.edu. Military spouses may send a copy of their spouse's military orders or DD-214 with a copy of their marriage license. Discounts will reflect on your student account after tuition and fees are applied each term.
