Today, you have the opportunity to make an important decision that could significantly improve your career, impact the lives of others, and influence your future participation in the field of nursing. By choosing to earn your Master of Science in Nursing, you can set that opportunity in motion.
Liberty University’s Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) program prepares nurses for advanced practice as Nurse Educators. Clinical practicum experiences are tailored to meet the individual interests and learning needs of each student. With the guidance of faculty mentors and approved preceptors, students develop clinical practicum goals and objectives based in the educational setting.
Graduates of this program are prepared to practice as Nurse Educators in a variety of educational settings. Moreover, graduates possess the critical thinking skills and knowledge needed to promote the profession of nursing through teaching, program development and implementation, and scholarship.
Prior to enrollment in Liberty University's M.S.N. Online program, potential students are encouraged to research their respective State Boards of Nursing for information about certifications relevant to the nurse practice act and requirements for certification. Prospective students should also contact their state’s Department of Education to verify access to practicum sites while enrolled in an out-of-state online program. Most M.S.N. courses are offered in an 8-week format year-round. The Nurse Educator track courses are 14 to 16 weeks in length. There are no residency requirements for the online M.S.N. program.
