Doctor of Education (Ed.D.)

Liberty University’s Doctor of Education program provides advanced training for individuals, like you, seeking positions in higher education, developing competent and effective leaders with a Christian worldview who will model high academic standards and assume a leadership role in the field of education. Specialized courses develop the skills necessary to assume a facilitating role in accomplishing the goals and objectives of an education system, whether it is as a teacher, superintendent, principal, college instructor, or another academic position requiring strong leadership and decision-making abilities. Tuition
$430 per credit hour (based on full-time enrollment)
Program Delivery Format
Online, with three classes required on-campus
Residency Requirement
- 3 on-campus intensives
- On-campus dissertation defense
Credit Hours
- 60 total hours
- Up to 9 credit hours can be transferred in from an accredited and unconferred degree
- Up to 24 hours of coursework for the Ed.D. program can be applied from an accredited, conferred Ed.S. degree.

Dissertation
A 6 credit hour dissertation is a required part of the Ed.D. program.
